Q:How would you design a rate limiter for our API?
In short:Use a token bucket per user, kept in a shared cache, so short bursts are fine but the average rate stays capped.
- Each request takes one token. Tokens refill at a fixed rate.

Questions, answered
Does it work on Windows?
Not yet. Chesi is a Mac app for now. It runs best on Apple Silicon Macs with macOS 15 or newer, and works best on macOS 26. A Windows version is coming.
Is anything recorded?
No. Chesi does not record audio or video. Speech is turned into text on your Mac, and the screen is read on your Mac. Only the text needed to write an answer is sent, and we don’t keep it.
Will others see Chesi when I share my screen?
On most apps, including Zoom, Google Meet and Teams, the panel is hidden from screen sharing. To be extra safe, share a single window instead of your whole screen.
Does it understand my accent?
Yes. Chesi understands English with any accent — Indian, American, British, Australian and more — plus common tech terms, and it copes with misheard or mispronounced words.
What happens when my hours run out?
Buy another plan from your account. You get a new key with fresh hours right away.
How do I get my license key?
After payment you get your license key right away in your account on this website.
Log in to your account to see it any time. Then open Chesi, paste the key (it looks like CHESI-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) and press Activate.
Can I use one license on two Macs?
No. One license is for one Mac. Buy a second license for another Mac.
What is your refund policy?
7-day refund if it doesn't work on your Mac.
Is it okay to use Chesi in an interview?
Use it where AI help is allowed. Some interviews, exams and companies don’t allow it, so check the rules first.
How does the free demo work?
